HAPPY NEW YEAR, Gospel City! 🥳 _ With thi HAPPY NEW YEAR, Gospel City! 🥳
_
With this new year, we want to introduce the theme of 2021: Genuine
.
For the upcoming year, the theme for Gospel City will be “Genuine.” Jesus strongly cautioned the religious of the trappings of hypocrisy. We recognize how easy it is to reduce our faith to "going to church," hanging out with Christians, and staying away from “really bad sins.” This is why we struggle with lukewarm faith. This is not why Jesus came. He came to give us life and life to the full.
.
This year, we’ll be revisiting the heart of Christianity: Following Christ.
.
Join us as we take steps towards following him.

We, the church, wanted to help provide shelter for pregnant women and support for single mothers like Maya. And we showed with our giving that we do care about them!

Please join us in prayer these vulnerable women and their children:
-for single mothers like Maya to find physical shelter and spiritual shelter in Christ
-for the mothers to find networks of support and sustainable ways to raise their children
-for the children of these single mothers to know God’s love relationally

Our Sangrok Orphanage Fundraiser goal has been rea Our Sangrok Orphanage Fundraiser goal has been reached! We were able to raise 2.3 mil for the orphans at Sangrok. Great job, church! Thank you, Lord!

Some of you may know our history with Sangrok Orphanage and how we had been building relationship with 22 of the 68 children living there. We had originally budgeted to prepare a Christmas Party for the whole orphanage and special gifts for the 22 children we knew. However, we felt led to open the door wider for you guys to help us prepare special gifts for ALL the children at Sangrok Orphanage (68 children in total).

This means we need to raise around 600,000won more by the 20th for Sangrok Orphanage. If you would like to donate to Sangrok, you can go to our link in bio and click on <Gospel City Christmas Fundraisers> OR you can type give.thegospelcity.org on any web browser.

Covid-19 has impacted us all. But orphans and vulnerable children need affection now more than ever. Please pray over the following:

-For God to protect the health and safety of each orphan.
-For each child to come to know Jesus Christ as his or her personal Lord and Savior and be fully persuaded that they are loved by God
-For God to touch the hearts of people to continue giving generously so that more children can be served

If you have any further questions, email us at hello@thegospelcity.org

[Link in Bio] Gospel City, this may be a once in a [Link in Bio] Gospel City, this may be a once in a lifetime kind of Christmas. There will be more people in need this Christmas than maybe any other in our lifetime. The financial recession has made life even harder for the poor, the marginalized, and the NGO’s that help them. If Christmas is going to be hard for you, think about how much harder it will be for those who are in need.

This past fall, we went over the parable of the rich man. He was fooled by wealth because he thought there was nothing wrong with his life. He had broken no laws, hurt no one, and was financially responsible. However, Jesus regarded him a fool. Why? He was not rich toward God. The rich man thought he had earned all his wealth, so he saw no need to be generous. He did not realize that his wealth was a gift to help others.

Church, not only has the Lord provided for your needs, but he has made you wealthy. Though you may not be able to have the Christmas you want, you can help make someone else’s Christmas a bit brighter. Let’s be generous and help someone in need.

For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you by his poverty might become rich. - 2 Corinthians 8:9

NO SUNDAY IN-PERSON GATHERING UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE NO SUNDAY IN-PERSON GATHERING UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

Hello Gospel City,

As much as we have been enjoying holding hybrid services, we have to make the hard decision of holding this Sunday’s service (Dec. 6) as Livestream only. The government has strongly urged churches to go online. Along with Synyongsan Church and other churches, we want to help limit the spread of Covid.

As Covid cases keep spiking up, Sunday service will be online only until further notice.

The social distancing level is currently 2.0. With the high volume of infections, we recommend you to be cautious.

However, we want to keep worshiping together via livestream. Please join us online via our YouTube channel at the same time (4:30pm).

We hope to be able to meet by Christmas holidays and New Years. Let’s continue in prayer for this city and the world as we enter into the Advent season amidst Covid.
Today, December 3rd, more than half a million stud Today, December 3rd, more than half a million students across Korea took the CSAT (Suneung). The day after the exam is the leading day for suicides in Korea.

Church, let us pray for such tragic deaths to stop and for hope to be planted in these students' hearts. Let us be alert in prayer for Korea's next generation.
For the past year, we have not been able to serve For the past year, we have not been able to serve our friends at Sangrok Orphanage due to Covid-19. We’ve asked them how we can serve them during this Christmas season and they compiled a general list of household essentials and food times.

House essentials list: laundry detergent, shampoo, body soap, lotions, hand cream, hand sanitizer, toilet paper, wet tissue, Kleenex, feminine hygiene products, toothbrush, paste, masks, etc.

Food: chocolate, cookies, gummy vitamins, jellies, canned food, fruits, ramen, etc.
